May 1977 Anne and Bud Farris Open Century 21 A&B Realty, In Stamford CT.
A Young couple with a growing family, was transferred to Stamford from places around the country, most recently from Branford CT. in 1967. Let me Introduce to you Bud and Anne Farris, Bud was an executive with IBM while Anne was a Home maker, Mother and Librarian. In 1975 Bud obtained his RE license as a broker and attended a Career seminar for a Local Century 21 Office. After liking what he heard at the seminar he perused Century21 to give him an office, and in 1977 the birth of Century 21 A&B Realty was Born.
Neither Anne nor Bud had worked in or sold real estate before joining Century 21 so they took advantage of the Century21 systems, National marketing and training programs. So they wore their gold jackets and started their long and successful career as Real Estate Brokers.
Century 21 A&B Realty Named after the owners Anne and Bud (A&B) began the marketing genius of the couple. In 1977 there was no internet and the main marketing source was the yellow pages, listings and News paper. Being listed at the beginning of the List of real estate offices in the yellow pages was thought to bring them more business. Whether it was the Yellow page placement or the hard work and dedication of the couple they were a success. For the next 23 years Bud and Anne grew their company from the 2 of them to an office of over 30 agents and a top producing office.
In the beginning of 2000 there was the Idea of creating a large multi office company with in the Century 21 program and so was born Century 21 Access America. The Multi owner Firm and marketing that went along with it, then grew to 21 offices covering RI and CT, and was the Most productive Century 21 company in New England Year after year for the Next 11 years. While Access America was a great project, and the creation of many great marketing innovations. From the redesign of the real estate web site to be the first Google searchable web site in the industry, creating the ability for any consumer to search for specific key words to find the home of their dreams. This innovation brought Century 21 Access America to the top 11 companies in the entire Century 21 system (that is out of 7300 companies world wide). In 2010 the commitment and direction of the multi owner ship proved complicated. With covering 2 states and 9 owners the relationship grew complicated and the breakup of the Company evolved. The need to become more locally directed and the need to move quickly and independently brought on the next change in the history of Bud and Anne.
In on June 16th 2011 the birth of Century 21 Connect was born, with the addition of a third family member Chris, (Anne & Buds Son). Century 21 Connect is now geared up to be the forefront of the Next generation of top producing real estate offices. Utilizing the world wide marketing of Century 21, and the launch of the second generation of the “Real Estate Search Engine” C21 Connect is ready to start connecting with our buyers and sellers online, to market and sell our clients names.
